Individual Therapy

Sometimes you feel like you have things in life under control. Other times you feel like the challenges are too much to bear. And that’s okay — life is both beautiful and hard. The important thing is you don't have to navigate it alone.

Your clinician will work closely with you to explore thoughts, feelings and behavioral patterns, to develop a toolkit for life's challenges, and to  help reveal the wisdom you already possess.

Child and Adolescent Counseling

Being a kid these days isn’t easy — from school pressures, to peer relationships, to gender or sexual orientation issues, to family shifts (including divorce, separation and new family members).

Those create big emotions for children to manage. We teach them healthy and creative ways to communicate their feelings, self soothe and increase their relational capacity.

Couples Counseling

Relationships and connections are basic human needs, but building a life with someone isn’t basic at all. It can be highly complicated, and almost all relationships could use some help.

We work closely with couples to help them face challenges involving communication, codependency, conflict resolution, addiction, parenting difficulties, feeling disconnected, building trust and financial issues.

Mind Body Therapy

Our bodies are such an integral part of who we are. Yet they’re often forgotten or ignored when exploring our emotional/cognitive experiences.

We bring the body front and center, using breathwork, mindfulness and yoga to help you feel at home in your body and build a stronger, more stable physical foundation.

I overcame myself, the sufferer; I carried my own ashes to the mountains; I invented a brighter flame for myself.

― Friedrich Nietzsche

 FAQs

  • Every therapy session is unique and caters to each individual and their specific goals. It is standard for therapists to discuss the primary issues and concerns in your life during therapy sessions. It is common to schedule a series of weekly sessions, each lasting around fifty minutes.

Therapy can be short-term, focusing on a specific issue, or longer-term, addressing more complex issues or ongoing personal growth.

There may be times when you are asked to take certain actions outside of the therapy sessions, such as reading a relevant book or keeping records to track certain behaviors. It is important to process what has been discussed and integrate it into your life between sessions. For therapy to be most effective you must be an active participant, both during and between the sessions. People seeking psychotherapy are willing to take responsibility for their actions, work towards self-change and create greater awareness in their lives.

Here are some things you can expect out of therapy:

    – Compassion, respect and nonjudgmental understanding

    – Perspectives to illuminate persistent patterns and negative feelings

    – Real strategies for enacting positive change

    – Effective and proven techniques along with practical guidance

  • Confidentiality is essential for developing a trusting relationship, which we think is essential for growth and healing, so we take confidentiality very seriously. Anything that you share during our sessions will remain confidential and will not be shared with anyone without your consent. There are a few important exceptions to this, including if you put yourself or someone else in imminent physical danger. Therapists are also mandated reporters for child or elder abuse or neglect. You will talk about it with your therapist in more detail during your first session, but please feel free to ask if you have a question about this at any time.
